Happy Hunger Games Embroidery Hoop and Katniss Doodle

Hunger Games Dandelion Quote Embroidery Hoop

Are you ready for today’s Hunger Game posts round up? First up is one of my favorite book reading crafty girls Kyla of Funky Polkadot Giraffe also know as Mormishmom. She has a squisher that’s almost exactly the same age as Teddy and so so cute! She took one of the sweetest quotes and is sharing an amazing Hunger Games embroidery hoop tutorial. She makes it look SO doable, I really need to try my hand at embroidery! While you’re visiting Kyla make sure to check out her Harry Potter costumes she made for her kiddos this Halloween. Seriously I was dying from cuteness overload when I saw them…umm baby Dobby, just saying. Oh and as a bonus this embroider hoop will be a part of the giveaway prize pack!

Sneak peek at Katniss Doodle art

Who is feeling artistic? I’m only showing you a sneak peek because I want you to go visit Flavor Pink to see the full awesomeness and I’m telling you it’s amazing. I was giddy when I saw the gorgeous Katniss Doodle that Crystalyn shared for her contribution to Happy Hunger Games! She also makes really cool brooches and we are so lucky because she’s turning this piece into one to add to the giveaway too! See more about the brooches while you’re checking out her art!

What’s For Dinner: Back in the Saddle

Bacon Brussels Sprouts - Rae Gun Ramblings

I’ve finally started cooking again. Between adjusting to life with Teddy and then the craziness of my Halloween orders it’s been FOREVER but I missed my weekly menu planning so I decided to bring it back.

My nieces are really into the show Chopped and watching it with them has really convicted me over how much we eat out. If you’ve never seen the show the contestants are given random (oftentimes undesirable ingredients) that they have 30 minutes to make a dish using the ingredients. The thing is everything always looks delicious. I figured if they can make something with their crazy ingredients than I should be able to make stuff with my whole fridge, pantry, and second freezer full of stuff. Am I right? I think something that will help me is that when I write up these plans I’m only allowed to put stuff that I have all the ingredients on hand to make

Day Meal
Saturday Raspberry Chicken Salad
Sunday Butternut Soup and Fancy Grilled Cheese
Monday Salmon with Ravioli
Tuesday Seafood Pot Pie
Wednesday Cheater Navajo Tacos
Thursday Eat Out
Friday  Kielbasa and Roasted Veggies

What's for Dinner weekly menu and recap at Rae Gun Ramblings

And I also thought it would be fun to share what I actually ate, you know if I can remember to take a picture.

  • Top two Thai food from Chanon Thai to celebrate Loy Kratong
  • MacCool’s Irish Pub can’t pass up half price appetizers on Tuesday nights!
  • Chicken Artichoke Sausage, Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Bacon Brussels Sprouts (I cooked!)
  • Delicious Focaccia that Heidi made, my sister smoked and grilled I contributed a salad and brownies. All of our tummies were happy. I was too busy chowing down to take other pictures.
