Prep Time 20 minutes
Cook Time 15 minutes
Total Time 35 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 15.25 ounce devil's food cake mix
  • 1 ¼ cups water
  • ½ cup of oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 3.3 ounce envelope instant white chocolate pudding mix
  • 2 cups of milk
  • Neon green food coloring
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 10 ounce bag marshmallows
  • 6 cups puffed rice cereal
  • 24 small plastic cauldrons
  • Halloween sprinkles

Instructions

  • Prep oven. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  • Line cupcake pan. Place 24 cupcake liners in you cupcake pans.
  • Make batter. In a medium mixing bowl combine your cake mix, water, oil and eggs. Stir until well combined. Pour the cake batter into the baking dish.
  • Bake cake layer. Bake the cupcakes for 15-20 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Cool cakes. Set the cupcake aside to cool. Once cool remove them from their liners.
  • Make the base layer. Put a cupcake into each cauldron, you will have to squish them down into the cauldrons and make sure you leave a little room for the pudding.
  • Make Pudding. In a medium bowl combine the instant pudding and milk. Whisk until smooth. Add a few drops of neon green food coloring and stir together until desired green shade.
  • Make the second layer. Top off each cauldron with a spoonful of pudding, careful not to overfill.
  • Make Rice Krispies. In a large pot melt your butter and marshmallows together. Stir in a few drops of green food coloring until you get the green color you like.  Make it a little darker than you want because it will lighten when you add the rice krispies.
  • Assemble the cauldron. Working quickly spoon rice krispies on top of each cauldron. If it drips down the side, that’s okay we are going for a bubbling cauldron look. Top with sprinkles.
