Start by making a basic ponytail.

Split the hair in half above the rubber band.

Reach through the split and pull the ponytail ups through the split.

Separate the ponytail into two equal sections.

Twirl each section towards the outside (so right side gets twisted to the right and left side gets twisted to the left).

Twirl until taut and fold the ends of the hair down to meat each other to form a heart.

Secure with a second rubber band.
