The Books I’m Going to Read This Summer

Books I'm going to read this Summer

So yesterday I shared my fabric hoarding problem and I was going to say that’s the only thing but then I went to write this post and I realized I have a serious to be read book hoarding problem. Luckily most of these have been gifted or borrowed so it’s not quite as bad as the fabric but I’ve got a few more than 10 on the list this week. These are the books that have come off my library hold, appeared in my mailbox, or have just been sitting on my shelf for too long. Linking up with The Broke and the Bookish. So here are the books I’m going to read this Summer.

GIVEAWAY CLOSED! And in case you missed it last week there is just one day left to enter the super awesome huge Summer bookish giveaway that my friend Debra from Housewife Eclectic and I are hosting.

  1. I really want to read Burn For Burn!

  2. Good to see lots of library books in that stack!

  3. sigh, Outlander. I absolutely ADORE that book. I hope you enjoy it!

Tiger Lily is a book I’ve been meaning to read for a long time as well, I’ve heard so many great things about it.

  4. I’ve heard such great things about Pivot Point and Tiger Lily, that I am so eager to get started on both of them. I really enjoyed Burn for Burn even though it was really different to what I was expecting. Great list Marissa!

  5. Great list! I enjoyed Outlander but have yet to get around to the other books, lol. I also love the cover for September Girls :)

  6. I highly recommend Everbound and Pivot Point! I really enjoyed both of those. I’d use some caution going into September Girls – I haven’t personally read it, but the negative reviews I’ve read have been a little scary. Nice list!

  7. Whoa, look at those big books right up top, haha. I really want to read Pivot Point because I’ve heard nothing but good things and YES to Tiger Lily. It’s such an amazing read and it made me weep. Beautiful, beautiful!

  8. I just saw Linked on your list. Read it. Read it first. Do it now! I just read it today and I have not read such a well written YA sci-fi novel in…years maybe? I’m trying to remember the last one I liked and I’m only coming up with Scott Westerfeld’s Pretties series…I must have read some since then! Anyway, you get my point.

I also just got my hands on Cinder which I’m very excited about – I’m a huge fan of fairy tale retellings and it’s gotten a lot of great reviews, so win-win

  9. Ooo, you’ve got some good books in your TBR! I’m been wanting to read Invisibility & Born Of Illusion too!

  10. I really want to read Pivot Point! Great list!

  11. The Seven Realms series sounds interesting, and I’ll be adding it to my ever-growing to-read pile. I’ve read plenty of rave reviews about Tiger Lily, although I haven’t gotten around to reading it myself. I hope you enjoy it, and good luck getting through your summer reading list! (:

  12. I don’t have a favorite summer read but the Outlander series has been on my reading list forever too. I hope you get to it this summer – I doubt I will!

  13. Marisol Avalos says:

Good choices for your summer reading list ^_^ so many good books! ♥

  14. Great selection! I have Burn for Burn and Carnival of Souls here but haven’t gotten around to reading them yet. I have recently borrowed Pivot Point from the library to read too.
    Happy reading!

  16. I’ve heard good things about Pivot Point so I’m excited to read it. Also eep The Bitter Kingdom!

  17. Yay for Outlander!! It’s such an amazing book. I wish that I could read it again for the first time. :)

  18. I’m starting to notice that fabric hoarding and book hoarding tend to go hand in hand for most people…or at least me. I just started Siege and Storm last night, and have City of Ashes on deck. Really waiting for Allegiant to finally come in though!

  19. Pivot Point and The Elite were two of my fave reads of these year! I’m excited to see them on your list.

  20. SO many good books on your list! The Seven Realms series by Cinda Williams Chima is the best fantasy series ever written, in my humble opinion. And, Outlander… well, I can’t say enough. I’d love to give the audio version a try!

  21. I have Outlander on my to read list as well. Have it on audiobook so can listen to it while I’m doing things around this house. I really want to read Tigerlily as well, need to order it from the library soon so I can have it as another summer read.

  22. Great list! I can’t believe I completely forgot to put The Elite on my list. I can’t wait to read it.

  23. You definitely have to read Everbound! It’s soo good! :D
Good luck with September Girls, I heard so many funny things about it. o:
And the cover of Burn for Burn is gorgeous! <3

  24. I don’t have a go-to summer read, but I really enjoyed Burn for Burn this summer and it sticks out as a perfect summer read.

  25. I hope you enjoy Invisibility! I adore David Levithan and you’re a fan too right? I can’t wait for his other book to come out in the fall as well! Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my blog :).

  26. Melissa says:

Definitely most excited to get my hands on the new Jeanette walls book!

  27. Pivot Point is surprisingly good. I think you should get on it fast! haha. I also vote for Burn for Burn. It was entertaining.

    Good Luck!

  28. LOL – I think I’m descending into hoarding territory, too (for books and recipes and craft supplies!). I have to get around to reading The Selection at some point. Too many books, not enough time!!! :-)

  29. Outlander!! I loved that book, a LOT more than I thought I would, lol. I stalled in the series a few books in, but I’m definitely still a fan. I’ll be interested to hear what you think of Tiger Lily – it’s on my TBR list and it sounds really good.

  30. I pretty much want to read ALL OF THOSE BOOKS! Except for Pivot Point and The Gray Wolf Throne, because I already read them and have all the flailing excitement over them already!!
    Enjoy your summer reading! :)

  31. Great list! I want to read Carnival of Souls and The Elite as well. The Elite is actually on my top ten list this week as well.

  32. So far my favorite read of the summer has been either The Summer I Became a Nerd OR Slammed. Great list!

  35. Looks like you have a lot of ground to cover, good luck!

  36. BURN FOR BURN!!! It’s really good and you have good timing cause Fire for Fire comes out in the fall :) Pivot Point and Invisibility also look good and are on my TBR if I ever get time!
