So you think knitting is only for grandmas eh? Let me introduce you to the Heavy Metal Knitting World Championships!
Heavy metal isn’t really my thing but I absolutely love the unexpected marriage of both knitting and the edgy music. And boy do these people look like they are having an absolute blast.
I have tried knitting many times over the years but it wasn’t until I was able to successfully teach myself how to knit.
That being said, I’m still VERY much a knitter. Sure I am super comfortable sewing tops and even making fancy princess dresses but when it comes to those dueling needles I am slow. I have to sit and focus and think and count and keep track. I’m in total awe watching these knitters dancing around and still whipping out awesome creations.

Plus you know that I absolutely love a good DIY costume or cosplay and this Finland hosted knitting world championship did not disappoint. So may amazing looks and styles to keep me looking. I would love to be apart of that energy.
We’ve got vikings sumos and everything in between and I just can’t get enough! There’s so much to love about this but I have to admit that the knit crown for the winners was totally my favorite! Maybe because it reminds me of these fun DIY crown or just because I’m a sucker for DIY crowns.
So there you go, yes weird but awesome weird no? Tell me the truth it was kind of fun right?
